Diver Swims With 26-Foot Anaconda
Underwater photographer Franco Banfi from Switzerland had a close encounter with the giant anacondas in Mato Grosso do Sul region, Brazil.
The 53-year-old diver father-of-two dived under water having only a camera in hand to capture the 26-foot (8 meters) long anaconda. He also saw six other types of female anaconda snakes during his ten-day trip in the area.
“At the first moment it’s scary because you don’t know the animal and everybody says it’s dangerous,” Banfi said. “But after a while you understand that nothing happens if you respect the snake.”
“I have never been so close to a snake like this before. But I think a small poisonous snake is more scary than a a big one. At least you can see the anacondas clearly and know what they’re doing,” he added.
